Clockwork Sky

Wind the sky, then line up the planets

Six planets turn around a star inside a brass instrument. Each one pays light when it comes round, and when several line up with the star they pay far more. Tap the sky to wind the clockwork and everything turns twice as fast. The gears decide how often each ring turns, so the real game is picking gears that fit together, zeroing the sky at the right moment, and keeping the mainspring from straining.

How to play

  1. 1Tap or hold the sky to wind it. Planets pay light every time they come round.
  2. 2Set planets on new rings, polish them, and choose each ring's gear. Gears that fit together, like 1:1, 2:1 and 4:1, line up again and again.
  3. 3Zero the sky to bring every planet back into step, then watch the track for the next big line-up.

What's in it

The meta layer

Once a star has given ten million light you can let it collapse. Planets and gears start over, but you keep your aether, the star chart and the logbook, and you choose which kind of star to light next.
